Connie Curilla
has served longer than any of the missionaries at HAFF.
She received her Bachelors degree from Cornell University in animal science
and joined HAFF in 1986. She serves as the Co-Field Director with the primary
responsibilities of working in the field business office, teaching various
subjects at the Bohoc Training Institute. She helps to coordinate the Christian
Home Economics class with Barb Van Schoyck and translates for visiting speakers
and medical professionals. Learn more about her at
Connie's Blog.
Greg and Barb Van Schoyck and children arrived as full-time missionaries in
1994. Greg is Co-Field Director of HAFF and responsible for formal education
program at the Bohoc Training Institute. Other responsibilities include
coordinating work teams and showing the "Jesus Film" in remote locations.
Barb is head of non-formal education and teaches English in the school.
She is also involved in visitation within the community and various mercy ministries.
Barb and Greg's two children, Gabi and Zach, have grown up in Haiti and are now
preparing for the future. Gabi is a student at Covenant College and Zach, who
will graduate from high school this year, is primarily home schooled and takes
some courses at the secondary school on the HAFF campus.
Jerry Pennington is a dentist who spends about half of each year working
as a dentist at HAFF, pulling and filling teeth and making dentures. The rest
of the year he works as a dentist in the States. He is seconded to HAFF and
so does not raise support through HAFF.
