Medical Clinic

HAFF operates an outpatient clinic on the campus. The clinic's original purpose was to care for the students at the Bohoc Training Institute, but because it requires a walk of several miles to reach the next nearest clinic, we have opened it to the general public. The clinic is open all day three days a week and staffed by two licensed Haitian nurses. It is also open one additional day each week exclusively to offer pre-natal care. These nurses provide necessary same day care and refer patients to the hospital in Pignon for cases requiring the attention of a physician.

A new clinic building was erected in 2004 by a visiting group from Builders without Borders. The new building has electricity, tiled floors, examination tables, etc. allowing nurses and visiting doctors to provide optimal care.

Donations of medicines THAT HAVE NOT REACHED THEIR EXPIRATION DATE are always welcome. Contact the field office in Haiti to inquire about needs and how to proceed.

Visiting Physicians

Visiting medical doctors spend time in the on campus clinic, but are often used in conducting clinics in remote areas not far from HAFF as well. The examination office may be a humble church building or an area under a tree screened off with sheets. In these rural areas doctors often see patients that have never received any medical attention in their life and are able offer medical advise, treatment and education.
